Clouds gathered over the already miserable landscape of Seattle. Tall skyscrapers with broken glass and misshapen forms were like tombstones; constant reminders of the failures of the past. Once, humans had stalked these homes, these walls, making it a living. Now, an alien breed focused their efforts to revitalize a device long left dormant by Guardian ancestors. Were this device to be truly realized in its purpose, it would surely bring about a whirlwind of change. A storm was rising.

With the demise of Iviks, it had seemed that the Veils’ prison would remain an empty relic, corridors filled with nothing but phantoms. Still, it would be a place that the House of Veils could use to their own ends, committing endless acts and atrocities for whatever ambitions they possessed. In days past, it had been a place of horrid experimentations for the Hive. When Arkanz came to Seattle, he saw a place of stone and blood and rot and he used it for his own ends. It was a place where he would conduct his own hells, killing his own kin, all with a Cheshire grin. Fireteam Black had finally rallied, though mistrust among the group left them to fight one another. Emperor-19 held massive hatred for anything of the Fallen species, and his hate grew upon discovering the presence of Syrakis. This led Emperor to attack his fellow Guardians, striking down Arxus and nearly killing him. Were it not for the intervention of Sylus, he most certainly would have. Though, Fireteam Black would soon find out that they needed to gather their strength again. A new foe was about to appear; one who held more hate and malice than one could possibly comprehend.

Deep below the surface of Seattle, there remained an old prison; once, it had belonged to the likes of the Cursed Brood, a Hive sect that experimented heavily on their own kind. Now, the House of Veils used it as a means to further fuel their sadistic tendencies. The hour drew ever closer, as Fireteam Black would be fated to encounter the Veil Warden. He was the key of escape, and the only way out of that infernal hell in the depths. For now, Syrakis and Arxus ventured further into the prison, seeking out the torture chambers. The corridors were long and winding, carved from damp rock and passing far into the earth. It was an imposing place to be sure.

Before Arxus was able to make his daring escape with Syrakis, there was another locked up in the prison. The cold and damp halls of the facility held many prisoners within its walls, some of who would never see the light of day ever again. It was a monument of the House of Veils and their destruction, spiteful nature; the mysterious Warden being a paragon of this senseless violence. Agony was common, as screams echoed through the prison. Of all those who would never escape, least to say, Providence would not be one of them.
